Week 10 Post 3 - Artistic Creations and Emotions

Henry Romain

My reaction to my learning is a heightened sense of interest in the way different creative mediums compare and contrast. In my research I answered this question: what do a famous architect and a contemporary filmmaker have in common? It is interesting to see that, alongside previous research, creative artists consistently seem to have a goal of preserving or invoking a particular emotion. This concept is present in all creative mediums I can think of. Next week I will research intentions related to invoking emotion.

A question I have is this: has there ever been an artistic creation that was influenced by emotion in any way? Is that possible? I would like to suggest that all artistic creations are derivative of or are meant to invoke emotion.

  1. Can you elaborate on your question? I think that many of your examples have been influenced by emotions.

  2. Looking back at this I think I made a mistake: I meant to say "has there been an artistic creation that was NOT influenced by emotion in any way".
