Week 2 Post 1 - Connections


Connecting with Your Intentions
   - The creator of a products intentions are consistent with the product
   - "You are the record"
   - Intentions cannot be glossed over by immaculate production
   - Intention is the source of energy
   - What is my passion? Why do I care? How do I see the world? What are my values?

Reduction
   - "You first learn about all the things you can do, then you learn about what you can leave out to still say exactly what you're saying."
   - "And communicators that take too long to get to the point will bore the audience, will often not introduce any new concepts that are helping the story."
   - Discipline in simplicity
   - Minimalism with impact
   - Simplest products are most satisfying

Falling in Love With the Problem
   - "Learn how to take a step back and frame the problem that you're
trying to solve it in a way that gives you brand new insights."
   - "Fall in love with the problem, not the solution."
   - Starting the day with no preconceived notions about what can and can't be done
   - What is the problem I am trying to solve?

Prototyping
   - Creating a preliminary, low-cost version of what you desire to create to gain an understanding of what the final product could be like and how to improve
   - Going from humming a melody to coming up with lyrics and recording

Iteration
   - "Permanent beta"
   - "Change is the only constant in life"
   - Going from 100% complete to 110% complete and so on
   - Constant search for unattainable perfection through countless iterations
   - Living as if your life or company is in a constant phase of prototyping
