Week 1 Post 3 - Entrepreneurship and Creativity

My general reaction towards what I have learned is that I feel that I'm learning information that can be applicable to my own life and I am eager learn more. I am currently reading a book about creativity (Creative Quest by Questlove) and it is interesting for me to compare and contrast the information from that book and from this course. Ive never taken a class on creativity before so it is useful to be given terms and working definitions for ideas I have thought about or experienced before. The things I have learned so far give me a more structured idea of the creative process, specifically the steps present in innovation. I never really thought about the strong relationship between entrepreneurship and creativity before now, and now it seems so obvious.

The only question I have is this: while innovators often share 5 skills, obviously not every creative person can innovate in their field. Is there an algorithm to almost guarantee the production of an innovative creation?

  1. Good question. How do they learn and expand those 5 skills you listed in your notes?

  2. Creatives learn these 5 skills through observing known innovators and then, through trial and error, apply the skills to their own work.

  3. How are they defining innovation and creativity?
